Nu Jazz Entertainment has launched the world's first virtual jazz record label – Nu Jazz Records. In keeping to the vision of Nu Jazz Entertainment the label will feature the same high quality and in-demand historical catalog, as well as the groundbreaking new artist recordings that the industry has come to expect from Nu Jazz Entertainment.
All releases will be distributed solely via digital downloads, with no products sold through the traditional music retail outlets. This will allow for the music to go directly into the hands of the consumers in an almost instantaneous method. Through both audio and video downloads Nu Jazz will seek to provide jazz consumers with the best in the "Nu Jazz" scene.
From releasing historic recordings of major Jazz masters like Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and John Coltrane to recording new artists, there will be something for everyone on Nu Jazz Records. Upon launch there will be a minimum of one new recording released per week of material that has never been released or made available for digital download. Whether you want to hear your favorite musicians of all-time or want to see the future greats Nu Jazz Records will provide.
The future of Jazz is here - Nu Jazz Records is a record label for a "Nu era". Unencumbered by the political constraints of the traditional record companies Nu Jazz Records is able to but the emphasis where it belongs - on the music. For some time now there has been a dour need for a record label to pursue with a single handed purpose the deliverance to the market of music uninhibited by the economic motivation to reap financial gains without contributing to the music. Now is the time for that.
Unencumbered by the need to do media advertising buys, retail store marketing programs, or to generally pursue the other marketing activities; Nu Jazz invests the money for these expenditures in the two areas where it is most important: 1) By providing royalties to the artist in fiscal percentages which standard record companies would refuse to; and 2) By investing in the development and acquisition of new works of music.
From time immemorial the musicians who have labored long and hard to develop their own musical voice have been bitterly neglected and mis-used by the conventional modern day slavery of the recording business. At Nu Jazz Records we have worked long and hard to do away with those slavery inducing ideas and theologies to create a model for a new and comprehensive label that balances the artists ability to be compensated for his artistic efforts, and the practical aspects of the record business.
